The New Carts are Here!

Posted in Composting, How-to..., Recology, Recycling, San Mateo County, Waste Reduction, You Should Know... by recologysanmateocounty on August 30, 2010

At long last, the delivery of new recycling, compost and garbage carts to over 92,000 homes to residents of the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA) service area has begun! With delivery beginning in San Mateo, residents in Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, Unincorporated San Mateo County and the West Bay Sanitary District can expect to see their new carts arriving at their home this fall.  See the delivery schedule.

Residents will receive three new wheeled carts: A new black garbage cart in the size of their choosing, (20, 32, 64 or 96 gallon), 64-gallon single-stream blue recycling cart and 96-gallon green compost cart, with the exception of Hillsborough, whose residents will continue to use their current green yard trimmings carts.

Visit RecologySanMateoCounty.com or RethinkWaste.org for more information. A “How-To” video is available online in both English and Spanish at RecologySanMateoCounty.com, explaining the details of the program, as well as additional services provided by Recology.

What should we do if we don’t get delivery of our carts?

      Hi Eric,

Recology will take over providing services to San Mateo County after January, 2011.

Please contact the Allied/Republic company that services your area in the meantime to have a cart delivered to you before then.
