Almonds and Bees

Vince Tye of Recology Grover Environmental Products shares the beginning of spring.

You’ll notice in the first attachment that yesterday’s swollen buds are today’s blossoms.

The second photo is a typical beehive configuration that has been moved into an orchard. As the weather warms the bees will come out and start working the blooms and thereby pollinating the trees.

Sorry I didn’t get a close up of the hive activity, but I’m not really into getting stung.

This rural stuff may not be as fascinating as the normal activity in the urban jungle, but it is an annual ritual in our valley that I look forward to each year.
